Recently I shared some of my kids’ favorite toys they play with all the time. Now that the holiday season is here I wanted to share with you some more of our favorites, including some goodies for moms.

I know for a lot of moms adding more toys to the mix is stress inducing. I am always looking for non-toy gift options for my kids. Fortunately my son learned to read this year and is becoming quite the book worm. I want to continue to foster his love for reading so books are always a great non-toy gift.

One of his favorite books to read is called What Should Danny Do? It was gifted to him for his birthday and he absolutely loves the ability to choose the choices Danny makes and see the outcome of those choices. This book is a great teaching tool for kids about the consequences of their choices and how harnessing the power to choose can make a difference in their day.

Another great book option is Goodnight Stories For Rebel Girls. This book is a compilation of strong women throughout history who made a difference. It teaches girls (and boys) how much of an impact we can make on the world by choosing to be brave and stand up for what we believe in.

My daughter loves sensory activites like play-doh and kinetic sand. She is also very into slime. What could be more fun than making your own slime to play with? If your child is also into being creative and playing with slime then check out this super easy to create slime kit from Elmer’s Glue.

Another fun sensory activity that also teaches kids about dinosaurs and paleontology is this dinosaur fossil dig kit from National Geographic. My son completed this dig kit in about a half hour and he really enjoyed searching for fossils. This is another non-toy option that is also educational.

My absolute favorite Christmas gift I have received was when my husband asked me to marry him on Christmas day seven years ago, but, if we are talking physical gifts I absolutely love my Dyson vacuum he gifted me last year.

It has been an absolute game changer in my cleaning routine. I use it every day, multiple times a day to clean up any mess. It’s versatile, easy to use, hangs on the wall to charge, and makes clean up more convenient for me. There are newer versions available, but I have the V7 Animal cordless vacuum and I love it.

Another great gift for moms and something I use almost every day is my diffuser from Art Naturals. The kit I have came with diffuser and a set of essential oils. It is small, lightweight, simple to use, and makes my space smell great.

Lastly, I would love to share with you these adorable backpacks from Loungefly. If you know a mom (or young girl) in your life who loves Disney then these backpacks are a super cute option. There are tons of different styles and characters to choose from the classics like Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck, to classic movies like Toy Story and Star Wars. Loungefly also offers some backpacks with matching wallets. How cute right?

These are just a few of my favorite gift ideas for my kids and myself. They are books and activities that we have loved and some items I have enjoyed for myself. I hope this holiday season is filled with fun and happy moments with your loved ones. Happy shopping!
