Robot (2012)
If I took you apart,
What would I find?
Piece by piece
I examine your heart, your flesh,
To find wires and sparks,
Automated responses programmed
In your brain.
A great work of fake,
A mechanical jumble
Of ‘I knows’ and ‘actually’,
A walking, breathing mess
Of ‘what I want to hear’,
Long pauses,
‘Warning!’ circuits
The expanse of wires
regulating your brain.
I’ve caught you
In your trap,
I’ve unhinged you.
I like your poem.

Great work. I loved your words. Poetry is beautiful in some of the most vulnerable way. It’s healthy for your soul. Sometimes the most depressing moments or happiest moments bring out incredible art. Wonderful; keep it up.

Thank you!
I agree!
I wrote this poem in 2012 when I was going through a crazy and emotional time. Our most turbulent times do bring out some of our best work I think.
Thanks for your kind words. π
